But!

Imagine you put your best effort into something and at the time you present it, its appreciated and a conjunction called “but” is added on, in the sentence to complete it. It may be a task, a job done at home or office, or maybe something you cooked for your family. I ask you a simple question. Will you remember anything said before the “but”? How much time will you spend thinking about all that was said after that conjunction? How did it feel? How would it feel if there had been no conjunction instead?

Have you ever thought about what compliments do to you? How they raise up your confidence and self esteem? They motivate you and push you to explore. They encourage you.

Sound magic!!

On Monday, a meditation student of mine who has chronic knee pain since 3 years, came for sound healing.
After the first session, he reported 50% improvement by evening though he was limping and had developed some ankle pain.
Next morning I treated his knees and then foot reflex zones to help his ankles too. By evening he said, the knee was same but the ankle pain was gone.
Next morning, that is Wednesday, I gave him his knee session again. By evening he messaged saying he doesn't need to come back because he said the pain was almost gone.
He is now totally free of his chronic knee pain in 3 sessions lasting 25 minutes!
So amazing had to share!

Love!

So many colourful four letter words but this one is perfect in every way. Love! Love! Love!

So easy to misunderstand and so beautiful when you do understand it. Wanting nothing in return from a loved one, is really the most liberating feeling. Doing things from your heart, truly and not expecting anything in return.

How many of us can do that? Think about it. Can you truly love and give without wanting anything in return? Can you truly love and give without questioning any actions? Can you truly love and give and be completely happy? Can you truly love without any conditions? If yes, to all the questions, then YES to you and Love!

If you have any doubt about any questions, its time to think about the way YOU love. People are. They will always do things that you don’t like perhaps. But accepting that is also love. Living with that is also love and loving what is, is completely liberating!

Illuminate Inside

IlluminateA light bulb illuminates the outer world. What does one do to illuminate the inner world? What does one do when there is darkness? We turn on a light. Get rid of the darkness and can be productive. OR do we sit around in the darkness, not using the gift of electricity that we have?

The same way, we can illuminate our inner world through clarity in thought which comes about through awareness of breath and each moment which happens through meditation. Instead of living in fear, anger, living up to others expectations, ideas of who we are, beliefs shoved down on us about how we must behave, we can simply start accepting who we really are. What we feel. Acknowledge moment to moment our feelings of fear, anger, hatred in the same way as we accept happiness so readily. Isn’t that what we do? We are able to accept happiness so readily and welcome it with open arms but we resist all other emotions. The resistance draws such emotions even more into our reality. It confuses us. The reason being that we are not able to accept it just like we do happiness or pleasure.

Hooked

imagesIt’s so funny the things that distract our attention. The things that get our goat and the things that really cause our brains to stick on to it.  Something we don’t like happens and our mind starts to feed it with further  unwanted stuff to add fuel to the fire. It takes only a slightest and smallest thing for this to happen to us.

The tree and the blade of grass

treeWhen i was a kid, i was asked if i want to be a tree or a blade of grass. I would immediately say tree. Why? Because a tree indicates strength of course! I wanted to be a strong person and that was it. Years later, I was asked again but with something added to it, do you want to be a tree and stay steady in one place or would you like to be a blade of grass, flexible to things in life. I was taken aback. I never looked at it that way ever. I wanted to be a blade of grass of course!!

Perfectly Imperfect

missing_petalPerfection. Its like an affliction some people have. Everything has to be perfect . If things are not perfect, things are just not right. People find it difficult to accept their own mistakes and give themselves no relief and make life miserable for the ones they love too, wanting no mistakes. Unable to accept mistakes they harm relationships. There was a famous series of books written by Richard Carlson, which went by the name of : Don’t sweat the small stuff. Makes so much sense and such good advice packed in such a small sentence!

Life is colourful!!!!

images (7)Colours carry a lot of meaning. Emotions have colours. For example, red indicates anger or passion. Practical purposes indicate red to be a colour depicting danger. There can be many interpretations for all the different colours. Imagine a colour completely in its depth and richness. Meditating with colours helps remove negativity and reinforce positive balance to our being. When you meditate with a particular colour, focus on the energy of that colour. There are 7 colours that we generally meditate with. When you sit to do this, sit quietly and relax every part of your body. When you are ready, breathe in the positive aspects that you want in your experience, and those which are associated with a particular colour. Breathe those in, focussing on them completely. Breathe out the negative qualities which are associated with that colour, as given in the list below. You can do meditations with a single colour repeatedly or you can meditate on all the colours. As you like. Make some personal affirmations associated with the positive attributes too, if you so wish.

Just a poem…

orange tree2Under The Orange Tree

As i lay, under the orange tree

Images of a happy time

Overtake my sense and my mind

Take over my entire body.

I’m gone

For a long long time, in that time

Longing for that touch

Longing for those kisses.

As the gentle breeze caresses me

The Potter’s Hand

on-the-potters-wheelThe word of the Eternal, (or rather the word which came to Jeremiah from the Eternal, saying : Verse 2: "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My words."

Pottery making was commonplace in Jerusalem, during the times of antiquity. Though no longer, so we can still today understand and relate to. God used this illustration to teach how He works with people. So there's a direct correlation and analogy of how a potter works with clay, how God works with people.

We all have a lot to learn. Whether we are going to be open to it, is a choice we have to make.  Life has its unique ways, effective teachers, and interesting tools to teach us the things that are meant for us and we unknowingly implore upon to be taught to us, shown to us, be lead to. Lessons we must learn, remember and apply. They say : God is a potter and we are clay, being moulded by his mighty hand.

In my life too, there have been many people who have walked in and unknowingly made me think about  myself. About who I am, about  who I want to be, about my life, my love, my thoughts, what makes me.. me  :)

Soul

lightSitting here, breathing deeply. Feeling the breath fill my inside and spread in my body. I’m inside. With each breath, there is a light that glows bright and fades away as I release my breath.

This thought came to my mind. That breath passing through my body will one day move on. Leave this body and move on. With what? What have I learned? This body is of no importance. It will just decay, rot and fade away. But my soul, the breath of my soul, will go on. And I wonder what it will take with it.

I’m so curious and suddenly, its so clear. Whatever I do, it doesn’t really matter. No one is judging me, but me myself. I am here to learn, love and live, each minute. I won’t take anything with me, for I am not my soul. My soul came with purity and will go on with purity.

That’s what I see when I breath deeply inside. Pure light. That’s all.

Questions Answered

What’s the purpose of being here?

What is most important in the lifetime that we live?

What are we here to learn?

images (8)The most important purpose of being here is being happy, always, come what may. Whatever life sends us. Accepting it neutrally. Whether we are happy at the one moment or sad. How we overcome the emotions and find neutral ground. That is the purpose. Being happy is a state of being ness. We cannot become happy. We have forgotten that we are basically happy beings. Our purpose is to find joy in everything we do. Our purpose is to be joy. Our purpose is to handle it. Whatever it may be. Nothing is bigger than us.

images (7)

The most important thing in the lifetime that we live is to be true to our selves. If cannot be true to ourselves, we cannot be true to anyone. We have to be so comfortable in what we do, that we are truth. There is no guilt, fear, shame. Only truth. True to our self. When we are completely true to our inner self, we feel whole, complete and pure joy.

images (9)We are here to learn that each one of us has enough inside. We are given only that what we can handle. We are here to learn how to handle it. We are here to learn that there is no outside source of strength. Its inside each and every one of us.  We are here to learn that we won’t find any answers anywhere but inside to any of the questions we may have. Nor any solutions to any problems. Those too are inside each one of us. We are here to learn there there is no need for judgments. There are mistakes made as far as our conscience doesn’t  allow. If the conscience allows, then there is no wrong. Each and every thing is a lesson and our job is to learn it well and understand fully.

Openness

images (6)Aren’t we strange sometimes. We have deep belief that whatever we say, do and think is correct. We argue as if our life depends on it. We get offended as if there has been some personal loss if someone doesn’t agree with what our point of view is. We are correct no matter what.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we can open up our minds to hear what another says. Wouldn’t it be nice if we just move forward with smooth rhythm instead of getting serious jerks like when someone puts the brakes on the car suddenly? Wouldn’t it be nice to imbibe something new in life? Try it for what its worth?

Openness… is everything.

Just be

images (33)“There is nothing to do. Just be.

Do nothing. Be.

No climbing mountains and sitting in caves.

I do not even say “be yourself”

Since you do not know yourself.

Just be.”

- Nisargadatta Maharaj

I often had this thought… when i don’t know who i am, then i how can i know anyone else. I came across these wonderful lines by Nisargadatta Maharaj, who i have been reading on and off. They really struck a chord in me. I don’t know me, then how can i possibly be myself. What is being myself. We often say “I always do this and that” and “ I never do this and that”.

images (1)How come we get stuck in such banal inconsistencies and let these define who we are at the core?  Our existence is such a mystery, not only to others but even to ourselves and we spend lifetime after lifetime looking for our self. How many lives have i already been doing this? How many more till i know what i am supposed to know?  I don’t know. Suddenly, this strange questioning makes it even clearer for me. I know what Nisargadatta Maharaj means when he says “Just be”.  He is asking each one of us, to live the moment. To be in the now and stop questioning. The answers we may be looking for will keep going further away when we run after it. But, if we can just be, it will reveal itself. It will reveal to me, my self. I have to just be.

If i want happiness, I don’t have to look for it, i just have to be happiness.

If i want love, i don’t have to look for love, i have to be love.

If i want peace, i don’t have to look for peace,  i have to be peace.

images (31)Whatever i want in life, i have to stop looking for it, and just be it.  Just be.

Its that simple.

Mystery or Mystical

There is nothing to be said to anyone… These are just my whispers into eternity.  There is no need for me to talk about anything.

images (25)Sometimes the soul weeps, sometimes sings with joy, sometimes the mystery is far too complicated that nothing can be seen by the heart and sometimes its only too simple…that everything looks like a clear  flowing river. Completely at peace. Within and without, inside and outside. Everywhere …the colours look brighter and appealing. The grass is greener, the flowers are so vibrant, their  fragrances fill the air in wonder enveloping an otherwise mundane existence.   My eyes sparkle and skin glows with happy cells.

And then sometimes however bright the day may actually be, it seems like… a sad grey cloud.  And i wonder why. I wonder how. How do the eyes see only what the heart wants ? Only what the soul feels ? How come its never the same ? How come things that i  always look at, look different every time ? Just not the same.  The mystery of existence never ceases to be, does it ?

Why is that sometimes my  tears have all the answers and sometimes its the song in my heart ?  Why is this journey within so easy and yet so hard ?

Why is it that sometimes i have all the answers and sometimes i have none ? And why is that sometimes even though there are no questions, everything seems like a lost way to me ?  I have no direction at all… when at times i can see the path so clearly ?

Why is it that sometimes i know myself so well and sometimes i don’t know who i am at all ?  All alone in this world, and yet, never lonely. Mystical me . . . . .

Words

download (3)Sometimes I wonder why we say some of the things we do. We say such dumb things sometimes and hurt in the process. Not only others but ourselves too. The same way, people hurt us with their words sometimes.

Words, the most powerful and dangerous weapons ever. They make wounds deeper than any sword or bullet. A sword may wound you, a bullet may kill you. But words, they linger painfully. Make you cringe every time. We cannot undo what is said, but words are so versatile. If we are full of regret and remorse, we have plenty of things that can be said to make it better. At the end of the day, what you really are at the core that matters. Did you mean to be nasty, or did the words come out wrong, or did they get misinterpreted. Whatever the case, if you are truly sorry, fix it.

download (4)No relationship is trivial. They are all too important. It takes so long to make a relationship what it is, so why let it go, just like that? Give every relationship its due. The world is not an easy place to live in, and the only reason we survive is because of our inter personal relationships with others. They are beautiful. They give us strength and joy. In fact, life would be nothing and we would not be who we are, if it weren’t for the people in our lives. Our relationships make us who we are. They give meaning to our life and existence. They define how we feel inside. Very rarely, yes, we do come across people, we have no desire of bring in touch with.

images (2)Get into this space inside you, which is full of gratitude and show it. Say it. Look beyond the foolishness and forgive and forget. Look beyond your self centeredness, also called ego. This is one disease we think we don’t have and everyone else is inflicted with it. Look in the mirror. Its lying to you. Look closely again.

imagesWe are born into this world with the freedom to be what and who we want to be, but that doesn’t mean we can trample people along the way. Look carefully inside and stop being all “I” and “me” all the time. Be in the moment and be aware of your self. Being more compassionate gives us freedom. Learn to accept people as they are despite the words said. Learn to control your own tongue, because  that’s the only one you can control. Becoming stronger to not let what people say affect you that the words linger on for hours and days is very essential. Allow others to be whatever they want to be and you allow yourself to be too.

Be Joy. Be Pure. Be Love. Be Happiness. Just Be.

Here and Now

images (2)

It takes all kinds of people to make this world.  There are 3 kinds, giving a broad generalization.

The people who live in the past are the first kind. Thinking about all the things they could have done. Once they have some free space in hands, their thoughts meander towards the past. Every moment is filled with regrets. And this just drags them further into the depths of misery and self pity, without them realizing what its doing to them. It pulls them like an unseen force. They curse the choices they made – the wrong ones. These are labels given by them, right and wrong. The wrong ones are so because things didn’t go the way they wanted to or planned in life. Or because the people around them are not upto their standards. Or wrong, due to the unseen insecurity within themselves. Or wrong because they expect too much from everyone, every situation in life. There is nothing wrong with these people as such, its just when they are in the past, they have lost their past, yes, but now have lost their present too and don’t realize it. They are always feeling “ I would have been happy if………….”

images (3)The second kind are the ones who live in the future. They worry about the future all the time. Plan, yes. And frankly, isn’t that all that we can actually do? We can do our best to make the best happen but it isn’t something we can control. With mind focus and thought control, we can manifest a lot, but that still doesn’t let us control anything. Worrying certainly won’t do anything constructive for our future. As a matter of fact, it would only hamper the progress.  These people are always feeling “I will be happy when…………”

Next are the ones who got it right. They are the ones who live today. images (1)[4]All of us are exactly where we are meant to be. The more accepting we are of this fact, the more joy we feel, more energetic, more happy. This is the only way to progress for us. I don’t say be happy all the time and things will be hunky dory, no. Just accept situations for what they are. Trying times et all. This takes us to inner peace, stability and strength. It empowers us to stand up each day and fight the mini wars we encounter. These people are happy. No ifs and buts.

Carpe Diem – Seize the day. Make each moment pleasurable. Don’t even make it happen. Let it happen. Let it go. Be effortlessly aware of now. When we let precious moments slip by, they are gone forever.

Be there for friends and family. You can only do that when you are fully present here and now. The energy of now is incomparable.

images

The first 2 kinds of people have lost their today for yesterday and tomorrow. Funnily enough, we are always checking the time. But, time is always NOW.  It would be nice to slow down and just savour the moment. This moment.

Heroes

index2

All the heroes, are they you and me?

He will return. The sun shines again. Bringing new hope.

The birds fly in joy.

Living each day, isn’t it heroic?

All the heroes return, somewhere.

All the stories have something to tell.

Each new day brings a new story. Most full of pain.

Can we move away from the pain,

And see the pure beauty hiding?

All the people live each day

Hoping that the new day

Will be a new birth.

Its hope that keeps us going.

All the songs are so melodious

Each melody has a different story

Each one tugging and touching someone.

And we just flow….with the breeze

Through life. Battered and beaten.

But victorious too, like each lotus that blossoms

Somehow.image1s[4]

True Happiness

images (1)True happiness……so difficult to define. In fact, rarely acknowledged as it should be. Happenings rarely get deciphered as true happiness. Look inside your heart and soul. Its right there. Means different things to us all.

The truest happiness lies in looking at your baby looking up at you smiling. Its the purest joy there can be. The  baby holds your finger with complete trust, saying i won’t ever let you go, i own you now.

The truest happiness lies in the gurgle of your baby’s laughter. Can you hear it? So free and intoxicating. You could die for it. It lies in the hug and kiss of your child.

The truest happiness lies in the feeling of the raindrops on your face. Look up at the sky and see how it blesses the earth and quenches its thirst. See the trees glowing in happiness around you.

The truest happiness lies in the birds flight. The significance of that freedom. To fly anywhere. The beautiful colours of their feathers.

The truest happiness lies in feeling the cool breeze on your face. Touching you gently and moving on. The beautiful waves of the ocean rushing back and forth, so calmly. There is no hurry.

The truest happiness lies in doing something for someone with wanting nothing in return. In giving selflessly and completely.

The truest happiness lies in the state of no thoughts. No tainted. No nothing. Just pure space.images

It lies right here, inside you. Beside you. Around you. And yet, we can’t see it sometimes. Its heaven on earth.
